Why Windmill
The case, on one page
Windmill is a product and technology studio that designs, builds and improves AI-powered products for real operating environments. The work spans product experience, engineering, evaluation and operational control, kept connected rather than handed between disciplines. Most of it is in financial services, health and other information-intensive sectors, where a product answers to operators and risk functions as well as to its users.
This page is built to be forwarded. Every claim on it links to the page that substantiates it, so it can be checked without a conversation.
Three claims you can check
We can work with the system you already have.
Windmill can evaluate, improve or extend AI products built by an internal team or another partner. The system does not need to have been built by us.
Check it: Evaluation & Assurance →You know the engagement shape before it starts.
Each engagement states whether it is fixed, milestone-staged or continuing, what it produces, and what happens afterwards - including where the honest answer is that nothing continues.
Check it: The four engagements →Proof comes before scale.
Evaluation criteria, representative scenarios and business signals are established before a prototype becomes a production commitment - and stopping is a valid outcome where the evidence does not support more investment.
Check it: The approach →How that works underneath: experience, intelligence, control
An AI product is not only an interface or a model. How people use and correct it, what it automates and how it is grounded, and how a team knows it is performing all affect one another. Windmill keeps those three designed together from definition through production - which is the mechanism behind each claim above, and it is laid out stage by stage on the Approach page.
How an engagement begins, and how it continues
Four ways in, and no requirement to start at the beginning. Short bounded work at entry; proof and production in the core; continuing evaluation and delivery beyond it. Each states its commercial shape and what follows.
Five reasons, each checkable
- Engagements are led by named people, not staffed and handed on.Who you would work with →
- Experience, intelligent behaviour and control are designed together, with evidence at every stage rather than controls added at the end.Frame → Prove → Build → Verify → Launch & Evolve →
- The work is in demanding operating contexts - private banking, fintech, health and life sciences - where products face operators, regulators and risk functions, not only end users.Financial services work →
- Continuing relationships are stated up front as the normal shape of production work, not introduced later as an upsell.Entry → Core → Sustain →
- Evaluation is part of delivery: quality gates, human review and audit evidence are product work here, not a compliance afterthought.Trust and security →
What happens next
A commercial conversation goes to a senior lead. Security and procurement questions can start from the Trust & Security page.
