Thomson Reuters Developer Portal Redesigned by Windmill

Portal to enable collaboration within development community

Challenge

Thomson Reuters sought to redesign their Developer Community platform (for external developers leveraging Thomson Reuters public APIs) to improve usability and enhance its overall appeal to both end-user developers and their content providers. The goals were to encourage and increase engagement, provide developers with the most pertinent information more efficiently, and facilitate the addition of new features and content.

Approach

Windmill Smart Solutions helped Thomson Reuters accomplish its goals by clarifying the key user workflows, use cases, and content types. We worked closely with the client to understand existing pain points and future plans to create a framework that would stand the test of time. We crafted and iterated multiple design concepts and prototypes to best meet our client’s needs. Once the client was happy with our concepts, we finalized them and built developer-friendly design guidelines.

Thomson Reuters provides professionals with timely intelligence, technology, and the human expertise required to find trusted answers.

Thomson Reuters offers a host of APIs, SDKs, tools, data, and other capabilities to their customers and partners. The Thomson Reuters Developer Community team manages the portal where customers, partners, and developers from across the FinTech industry come to access tools, documentation, sample code, learning materials, and Q&A forums that help them work effectively and achieve their desired goals.

Thomson Reuters approached Windmill Smart Solutions to help redesign this portal to make it more user-friendly and offer greater value to its community of users.
